Cotton long nightgown or long t-shirt?

10:12

what do u prefer

I SLEEP IN BOXERS, BUT FOR A LADY FRIEND, i PREFER A SHORT TEE-SHIRT

I like long tees as nightgowns! NO, I'm not a tomboy, actually, quite the opposite, I'm such a girly girl. I just think that they're more comfortable. Nightgowns are so old-fashioned!

tank tops and cotton shorts

cotton T-shirt

same thing

naked is best

A night gown if its sexy lycra look, but if has to choose b/w 2 of cotton ones, then for sure a t shirt

cotton long nightgown, its comfortable and covers your body.

im a girl. long t shirt

one of my dads or my bfs big t-shirt

Long t-shirt, especially if its you mans.

Long T-shirt.

long t-shirt

cotton t-shirt with some shorts or undies

Neither: they are demon-posessed and in the middle of the night they try to strangle me . So in selfdefence I sleep in the buff. But I don't trust the sheet either.....

long t-shirt !!

cotton t-shirt

your boyfriends varsity t shirt duh

Where can I get a knitting pattern for a girl's nightgown?

00:06

I want to knit my 6yo daughter some light cotton nightgowns for spring but I can't find any patterns. I'm looking for a simple pattern with a plain bodice and a full/swing skirt. I'd like to add my own embellishments like lace edging on the shoulder straps. But I need a plain pattern to start with. Thanks!

That's a lot of knitting, but here is a link. Good luck.

Hobby Lobby, JoAnn Fabrics and also Ebay

Try knitting.com or even on the DIY network, they have a knitting show that might give you some links. You might have to improvise some of it, but if you can find pieces of what you're looking for, you can put them together to make one.

Karens Variety

A large selection of new and vintage Patterns, Pattern Books, and PDF Download - crochet, knitting, cross stitch, plastic canvas, tatting, embroidery, macrame, dolls, toys, sewing, crafts. Newsletter, Free patterns. Contest

Lincraft, i live in Australia, don't know if u have that store wherever u live, and also spotlight, lol my mum shops at those places

First I'd start by looking for sun dresses instead of night gowns.

This has sleeves but you could always skip that part. Has a lacey look so would be cooler.

Cotton yellowed with age: How do I remove it?

10:13

A friend sewed a 100 % cotton nightgown and stored it for some months. The cotton yellowed over time and now she cannot wash or bleach this out. Anyone know how to get it white again?

Try Oxi-Clean. It may remove the yellow. Soak it in the Oxi-clean bath for a couple of hours. This comes in a spray bottle which I also use, but the powder would be better for this situation. You can get it at most grocery stores as well as Wal-Mart.

Carbona makes a color nuetrulizer for fabrics it makes almost anything pure white no mater what color it was to begin with

it can be found in the laundry area at Walmart

costs about 2 dollars

oxeyclean,

Use OxyClean, it's expensive, but it works

Try a blueing agent. They sell it at supermarkets in the laundry section. Also, Rite Dye makes a whitener.

I have had this and the best thing to use is Fab with Bleech also add a some oxyclean...works wonders for dinged or any stains. Good Luck!!

Oxy-Clean should do it. If not, try some bluing, but be sure to follow the directions exactly -- unless you want the nighgown to be blue rippled.

Alcohol - like the kind that you keep in the cabinet for cuts and scrapes

Dab a little on(you'll see the ink start to run) rub, rinse(cold water only), repeat-repeat-repeat-repeat - till it all comes out

(what works with the hairspray is the alcohol that is in the hairspray-most people are told to use hairspray b/c it is more easily found when you are not at home and you are trying to remove an ink stain - but the very best thing is the regular alcohol)

ps if you have already tried the WD-40 (I have never tried it and I don't know if it works on ink) you will be left with and oil stain - to get the oil stain out use dawn - rub it in - rinse -repeat - repeat repeat - at least three times and do not throw this article of clothing in the dryer until you have inspected it to make sure there aren't any types of stains left b/c after it goes in the dryer it will be set in and there will be nothing you can do about it

Generally

Biharies use Papaaya for removing the ink...

But you try little milk in a spoon drop over the gown and rub that gentle and was out

Dont use Ethers, Alcohol or esters to remove the stains as it may perish texture of cloth.

Put hairspray on, it let it stand till you see the ink running, then wash as usual.

Use Exit soap, it amazing for removing pen ink from heaps of surfaces and materials. Look up the website for some stories about what people have used it for.

My mother put me onto it and I don't know what I would of done with out it. The on line supermarket is pretty good to!

Try hairspray... that should work. If that doesn't, try the waterless hand cleanser that mechanics use to clean their hands and a denture brush to scrub it with. That works great on stains!

try wd-40

I use hair spray to get ink out of clothes. Spray the ink and get it good and wet with the hair spray and then wash immediately. Repeat if it all doesn't come out. Good luck!

What are good colleges that have fashion programs?

21:54

I'm interested in fashion and eventually want to have my own line and open up my own boutique, but I don't want to go to fashion school. My parents won't pay for it and I want the traditional college experience.

Are there any GOOD (big emphasis on that because academically I'm doing pretty well) colleges/universities that have fashion majors and programs?

well i just started going to school for fashion design. if u r n atlanta

1) american intercontinental university 2 campuses

2) bauder college

3) art institue

4) scad

Apart from college, a great way to get started in the fashion industry is to join an online community. http://www.chictopia.com is a awesome way to showcase your fashion interest outside of school, and it has had users featured in TeenVogue, ElleSpain, and WWD, so it helps for getting noticed. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20080904161310AAH2eej&kid=NqZKIWD1UlCDVgJspHJW&s=comm&date=2008-10-21+16%3A04%3A54&.crumb=

Parsons The New School For Design in New York City is known for fashion design. Its really competitve and will have to work hard. During senior year, there's a senior show where only a handful students gets picked to show their design. There's two shows one for family and friends, and the other one http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20080904161310AAH2eej&kid=IIV6LXrCDkHtpCWsMqBS&s=comm&date=2008-11-11+08%3A09%3A53&.crumb=

is for known fahsion designers who come to recruit students from this school to work for them, some people that come is Marc Jacobs. Do you know the show Project runway, if so its from Parsons. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20080904161310AAH2eej&kid=IIV6LXrCDkHtpCWsMqBS&s=comm&date=2008-11-11+08%3A11%3A44&.crumb=

How do you start off working in the fashion industry?

21:54

I am extremely interested in all areas of fashion. I keep my nose in Allure, Elle, Cosmo, Vogue and the tabloids. I love celebrities and their apparel. How do you get your foot in the door of fashion? Fashion journalism (I'm a great writer), fashion consulting (I adore clothes, accesoriese, etc.) or just working for a magazine? Help! If you want to see some of my work, let me know.

OMG, If i wasn't taking accounting I would do the same..

try interning for the magazines, just tell them how dedicated u are and show good grades at school.

Teen Vogue is a good place to intern to

Well, there is a number of ways and one of them is to work for a company like Macy's and they will send you to school if you apply and get approved. Then you could study fashion trends and become a buyer for a department store. There are a number of fashion schools or you could intern for a fashion magazine or company. It's all about starting small and getting noticed.

I want to be a fashion designer- which books should I start reading/studying to really understand fashion?

22:48

For a long time now I've wanted to be a fashion designer, or stylist. I already read fashion magazines, but they don't provide much in the way of history, etc. Which books would you suggest to a teenager who wanted to understand the history and ways of fashion and fashion design?

I wanted to become a fashion designer, but after I did some research, I realized about 1% out of 99 make it ANYWHERE. They usually try and start there own clothing line which fails, or start there own botique that fails. Most just end up at a cash register in Victoria's Secret for 20 years untill they realize they arent going anywhere and change there career. I would advise you NOT to go into this industry unless you are REMARKABLY talented. There ARE lot of talenented people, but you have to be a fashion genius to get anywhere. If you still like fashion, makeup, etc. find a niche market in something and creat your own new trend or product. Or just become a makeup artist.

I'm sorry to slap you so hard in the face, but I know you will regret it if you become a fashion designer.

Good Luck!

Start getting some sewing lessons. I know you want to be a designer, but this will help you understand the technical part of designing: a persons body, structure, seams, fabric textures and colors. Trust me, it will help you a lot. And its tons of fun!

Also, just get some books a the library, magazines, watch project runway, and what not to wear. Hope this helps!

Honestly, start watching Project Runway on BRAVO.

It is inspiring and gives you an idea what the business is like.
